A Great Egret hunts along the channelized Bray's Bayou in Houston's Hermann Park. The park is over a century old, built on what was then the edge of the city, it is now a major urban park. All across Texas open spaces are planted with wild flowers, and the edge of Bray's Bayou is no exception.

Joshua House has been described as a photographer, a conservationist, a historian, and an adventurer. Having traveled and worked extensively across the country he is currently concentrating his photographic work in Eastern Texas, centered on Houston. His past creative work has included research, writing, and photography for the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Illinois, Homestead National Monument of America in Nebraska, and Dinosaur National Monument in Utah and Colorado.
