The Rochester Firefighters Benevolent Association Monument in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rochester New York, stands over the Firemen's Plot first established in 1843. As the city grew the fire companies shifted from social clubs to the current professional service.

Joshua House has been described as a photographer, a conservationist, a historian, and an adventurer.
