The fountain at the center of Hermann Park reflects the light of the setting sun, while behind it cranes continue work on the expansion of the Texas Medical Center. As the sun sets the park and begins to empty following a busy day during spring break. The paddle boats have been returned to their berths, and the zoo train has been parked away safely for the night. Within an hour the park will be nearly empty, with only the ducks, herons, nutria, remaining.
Joshua House has been described as a photographer, a conservationist, a historian, and an adventurer. Having traveled and worked extensively across the country he is currently concentrating his photographic work in Eastern Texas, centered on Houston. His past creative work has included research, writing, and photography for the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Illinois, Homestead National Monument of America in Nebraska, and Dinosaur National Monument in Utah and Colorado. As a conservationist he has worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the National Park Service.
