Description
The view westwards from the Union lines atop Cemetery Ridge. It was across the field in front of us that the Confederates attacked during Pickett’s Charge July 3rd 1863. The “copse of trees” is on the left, and the area known as “the angle” can be seen at the right, marked by the stone wall that turns by the small pine tree. The small marker with the marker ropes around it is the Armistead monument.
