Artist's Description

The New London Shelf Light sits at the mouth of the Thames River, protecting the entrance to both New London and Groton harbors. Built in 1909 its unique look was intended to visually accompany the city of New London's skyline. Tradition has long held that the Light is haunted by a ghost known as Ernie, whose existence even exists in the official log of the Light.

Having traveled and worked extensively across the country he is currently concentrating his photographic work in Eastern Texas, centered on Houston. His past creative work has included research, writing, and photography for the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Illinois, Homestead National Monument of America in Nebraska, and Dinosaur National Monument in Utah and Colorado. As a conservationist he has worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the National Park Service.
