Oak Creek stretches out beneath you as your eyes follow it to the south and west. Thousands of hikers and photographers gaze up to this point every month, but few of them have made the climb you just made, to look down across Yavapai county and the Coconino National Forest.

Joshua House has been described as a photographer, a conservationist, a historian, and an adventurer. Having traveled and worked extensively across the country he is currently concentrating his photographic work in Eastern Texas, centered on Houston. His past creative work has included research, writing, and photography for the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Illinois, Homestead National Monument of America in Nebraska, and Dinosaur National Monument in Utah and Colorado. As a conservationist he has worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the National Park Service.
