The Ima Hogg Oil Well at the Varner-hogg plantation state historical site in West Columbia Texas, part of the Texas State Historical Commission's holdings the Plantation tells the story of the the enslaved people who lived here, their enslavers the Varners, who used them to produce sugar, and of the Hogg family who purchased the property in 1902.
