The world famous Uptop Chapel stands surrounded by aspens and wildflowers along the old road through La Veta Pass connecting the San Luis Valley to La Veta, Walsenburg and the rest of the world. Once the home of the highest narrow gauge railroad in the world Uptop has become a near ghost town, but unlike many ghost towns is still easily accessible by road.
About Joshua House
Joshua House has been described as a photographer, a conservationist, a historian, and an adventurer. Having traveled and worked extensively across the country he is currently concentrating his photographic work in Eastern Texas, centered on Houston. His past creative work has included research, writing, and photography for the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Illinois, Homestead National Monument of America in Nebraska, and Dinosaur National Monument in Utah and Colorado. As a conservationist he has worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the National Park Service.
