About 60 miles west of Houston the land finally opens up and under a fairly clear sky you can just make out the Milky Way. The area around Eagle Lake in Colorado County is made up of farms and ranches, many of them using windmills as they have since the 19th century to draw water out of the ground.
About Joshua House
Joshua House has been described as a photographer, a conservationist, a historian, and an adventurer. Having traveled and worked extensively across the country he is currently concentrating his photographic work in Eastern Texas, centered on Houston. His past creative work has included research, writing, and photography for the Lincoln Home National Historic Site in Illinois, Homestead National Monument of America in Nebraska, and Dinosaur National Monument in Utah and Colorado. As a conservationist he has worked with the US Army Corps of Engineers, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and the National Park Service.
